Test Campaigns Efficiently in the Marketing Cockpit

Testing your campaigns helps ensure they work correctly. This guide explains how to test campaigns in the Marketing Cockpit. You’ll also learn how to handle “Wait” actions without long delays. Follow the step-by-step instructions to build confidence in your campaigns.

Most campaigns involve several actions. Testing is fast when no “Wait” actions are involved. But what happens if your campaign includes “Wait” actions?

“Wait” actions usually require delays of days or weeks. For testing, you can shorten these delays. This lets you verify that everything works without waiting too long.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Setting Up the Campaign

  • Create a campaign in the Marketing Cockpit.
  • Set the start condition to use a manual tag. Later, assign this tag to your test contacts.
  • Add the desired actions and make all the settings.
  • Set the correct waiting times in the “Wait” actions.
  • Start the campaign.

Preparing Test Contacts

  • Create a test contact in the ContactCloud.
  • Set the manual tag for the start condition of your test campaign in the contact.
  • The contact then runs in the campaign.
  • After a short time, the contact will run into a “Wait” action.

Testing and Adjusting Wait Actions

  • Select the contact's email address in the ContactCloud.
  • Then click on → Contact History  on the left.
  • At the top, you’ll see the last entry labeled → Future Execution.  This is the “Wait” action with the status → Paused Execution.
  • Below this, a button with → Execute now  is displayed. This gives you the option to end the waiting time. The contact goes directly to the next action.
  • You can use this procedure for any number of “Wait” actions. This allows you to test even the most complex campaigns in a short time.
