Use the “Restart (Multiple Send)” Action in KlickTipp

This article explains how to use the “Restart (Multiple Send)” action in KlickTipp to have contacts restart their campaign. By using the “Restart (Multiple Send)” action, you can send contacts back to the beginning of their current campaign. This is especially helpful for webinar registration campaigns, but also works for campaigns that update contact data or check master data fields, even if no emails are sent.

Did You Know?

Campaigns with the old “multiple send” functionality will continue to run as usual. If you deactivate this option, you'll need to use the “Restart (Multiple Send)” action to enable multiple sends.

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Click on → Add Action  in your campaign.
  • Select the “Restart (Multiple Send)” action.
  • Name the action.
  • Select a tag that should be optionally assigned as soon as a contact restarts the campaign. An optional tag for restarted contacts helps you to control the campaign even more precisely. At the same time, you can also use it to start further actions in other campaigns.
  • Finally, click on → Save.

Important

The “Restart (Multiple Send)” action resets the campaign for contacts who reach it, allowing “Goal” actions to be triggered again.

For a campaign that has already ended to be restarted, a trigger must also be activated for the specific contact, in addition to the “Restart (Multiple Send)” action. This trigger could be a change in the contact's master record, for example.

It’s important to ensure that the trigger for restarting the campaign is not activated until at least 5 minutes after the contact reaches the action.

A trigger ensures that the start condition of a campaign for a contact is checked again by the system . If this check is not carried out, a campaign cannot start again for a contact if the contact has already reached the “Restart” action.

There are several ways to trigger this trigger: For example, you can remove the tag required for the start in the campaign that your contact is running through directly after the start. The campaign then continues as usual until the end. If the contact receives this tag again at a later point in time, it serves as a trigger to check the contact again.

Any new tag assignment acts as a trigger. Even if the tag that originally started the campaign is not removed, adding a different tag can still restart the campaign for the contact. In addition to tags, any change in a contact’s data can serve as a trigger.

For example, in a webinar campaign where a date is used as a start condition, deleting the date from the additional field and adding a new webinar date can trigger the restart.

If a contact is waiting for a campaign restart triggered by a change, this will be recorded in the contact's history.
