Recipient Limit Reached? Actions to Take Now

This article shows which steps you can take if you reach the recipient limit. You can delete inactive or unengaged contacts to stay within the limit.

If your KlickTipp account reaches the recipient limit, you'll receive notifications on the start page in your account and via email.

To continue sending emails, you can either upgrade your account or delete contacts.

Important to Know

Contacts will still be collected even if the recipient limit is reached. They’ll still be added to the ContactCloud through registration forms or API.

The confirmation email is sent as part of the double opt-in process. However, no emails from campaigns or newsletters are sent.

There are several effective ways to reduce your contact count. We’ve prioritized these options to help you quickly bring your total back within the intended limit.

Contact Cleanup Actions

Delete Contacts Without a Digital ID

Contacts without a digital ID cannot receive emails, making them unnecessary in your ContactCloud.

In the ContactCloud, select the → is empty  filter under Email information.  Delete the displayed contacts using the button at the bottom of the page.

Delete Contacts Who Have Not Confirmed Their Registration for Over 7 Days

Experience shows that contacts rarely confirm their email address after 7 days.

Set the email status → Opt-in pending for more than 7 days  and delete the corresponding contacts.

Delete Contacts with Hard Bounce Status

Email addresses that are permanently unreachable are given the status → Hard bounce.  It is therefore very unlikely that these addresses will be reachable again.

Set the → Hard bounce filter under → Bounce status  and delete the contacts displayed.

Delete Contacts with Soft Bounce Status

Email addresses with a → Soft bounce  status are only temporarily unavailable. Consider if you truly need the space freed up by deleting these contacts.

Set the → Soft bounce  filter under → Email status  and delete the contacts displayed.

Delete Unsubscribed Contacts

Note: Deleting contacts will erase their entire history. Therefore, if necessary, carry out the other options for deleting contacts first. Remember that a deleted contact could re-register at any time.

In the Contact Cloud, remove the default filter → Confirmed  under Email status. Select → Unsubscribed  instead. Click → Search  and delete the contacts displayed.
