Common Reasons for Email Delivery Delays in KlickTipp

Are you experiencing email delivery delays in KlickTipp? Delays can disrupt your communication and impact your campaigns. Understanding the common causes and how to address them is key to keeping your emails on schedule.

In this guide, we’ll explain the main reasons for email delays and share helpful tips to ensure timely delivery. Let’s dive in.

Prevent Email Delivery Delays

Limiting the Number of E-Mails Sent per Day

KlickTipp sends a maximum of eight emails per day to a contact to ensure reliable email delivery.

Any additional emails (the ninth or more) will be delayed by 24 hours, regardless of the automation sending them. To avoid email delivery delays, test with separate email addresses if you're running multiple campaigns in one day.

Good to Know

To test for potential email delivery delays, you can use a Gmail address and create aliases. Simply add a plus sign followed by any extension you like after the address name.

yourname@gmail.com  becomes → yourname+test1@gmail.com yourname+test2@gmail.com yourname+test3@gmail.com,  and so on.

The plus sign after the local part (the part before the @) is key.

With these aliases, you can use a separate email address for each campaign.

“Wait” Actions with Fixed Times

One potential reason for email delivery delays is the presence of multiple “Wait” actions in your campaign. These actions can sometimes cause unexpected delays, especially when combined with fixed times.

Other Reasons for Delays

  • License exceeded:
    • The maximum number of contacts has been reached, meaning no more emails can be sent.
    • If the limit is lifted due to an upgrade or the deletion of contacts, email sending will be delayed by 6 hours.
  • Whitelabel domain is inactive:
    • Once the domain is reactivated, email delivery will resume, but a delay of 6 hours applies.
  • Option → Wait until the contact can receive emails  is activated:
    • You can select this option in an email action in the Marketing Cockpit.
    • As soon as the contact can receive emails (i.e., they have opted in), sending is delayed by 6 hours.

Avoiding email delivery delays is essential for reliable communication and effective campaigns. By understanding the common reasons and following these tips, you can ensure your emails reach recipients on time.
