Set up n8n and Node-RED easily with elestio
In this guide, we will show you how to easily install and manage n8n and Node-RED via elestio. Step-by-Step Instructions
How to create your account with elestio
- Access the website: Visit the elestio website and click on the option to create your new account via the → Free Trial.
- Select email address: Enter the email address you want to use for elestio.
- Set password: Now enter a secure password - don't worry, elestio will show you what you need to remember.
- Enter your full name: Enter your first and last name in the → Full Name field.
- Subscribe to newsletter (optional): If you want to stay up to date, simply check the box → Sign up for our newsletter.
- Create an account: Click on → Continue with Email.
- Agreement to guidelines: By creating an account, you agree to the privacy policy and terms and conditions.
- Email verification: Go to your inbox and open the confirmation email. Click on → Verify Email to confirm your email address.
Deposit Payment data with elestio
- Forwarding after email confirmation: After clicking on the confirmation link, you will be taken directly back to elestio.
- Open account settings: Click on → Account in the dashboard and then select → Payment Options in the top bar.
- Add payment details: Click on → Add card and enter your payment information.
- Fill in the payment form: Enter the required data - the email address is already pre-filled for you. Now you just need to add your credit card details.
- Enter the cardholder's name: Enter your full name so that everything matches.
- Select country or region: Select your country from the drop-down menu.
- Data storage: If you wish, you can activate the option → Data storage for payment transactions .
- Save payment data: Click on → Save and your data is securely stored.
- Activation: After a quick check, your account will be activated in no time at all.
- Top up your credit: Top up your credit by clicking on → Add credit. With €15 you are perfectly prepared.
Create n8n or Node-RED Service
- Log in to the dashboard: Log in and you are already in the → default project, which is automatically created for you.
- Create service: At the top of the dashboard, you will find the → Create a new service button. Click on this.
- Select service: Enter n8n or Node-RED in the search bar and select your desired service. Click on → Select and the next step is done.
- Select cloud provider: Now it's a matter of selecting your cloud provider under → Select Service Cloud Provider.
- Define cloud region: You can specify your region under → Select Service Cloud Region. Just leave it at → Germany-Falkenstein (FSN1) - this is suitable for data storage in the EU.
- Select service plan: Choose the right plan under → Select service plan. To get started, we recommend the → medium-2c-4g option. Then simply click → Next at the bottom right.
- Enter service name and admin email: Enter a nice name for your service and add your email address in the → Admin email field.
- Keep default settings and create service: Just leave the rest of the settings as they are and click → Create Service. Everything will now be set up for you.
- Check service in the dashboard: As soon as your service is ready, you will find it under → Services in the dashboard. Click on the service you have just created to open it.
- Show access data: Behind the line → Admin you will find your access data. Click on → Display Admin UI and the URL of the Admin UI, the user name and the password will appear.
- Use login data for n8n or Node-RED: You will need these access data later to log in to n8n or Node-RED.
How to install n8n or Node-RED with elestio
- Create an account: Go to elestio, enter email and password and confirm them.
- Add payment details: Add your credit card and top up some credit, we recommend around €15.
- Select service: Click on → Create Service in the dashboard, search for n8n or Node-RED and select it.
- Make the settings: Select Cloud Provider and Region, name your service and then click → Create Service.
- Once everything is set up, you will find your service in the dashboard and can get started with the displayed access data.
